The rumour mill regarding the managerial job at Manchester United has been one that has dominated the festive period in Manchester, but the latest rumour is that Sir Alex Ferguson could act as an advisor to Ryan Giggs were he to take over from Louis van Gaal.
Louis van Gaal seemed to be on borrowed at Old Trafford, with the club now without a win in eight games and league position dropping down to sixth. Louis van Gaal has insisted that he will not step down, especially when the players are fighting for him, but journalist Paul Smith has claimed that if the Dutchman does get the sack, number two Ryan Giggs would be in line for the main job until the end of the season with Sir Alex Ferguson lending a hand from the sidelines.
Paul Smith stated on Twitter:
“From what I understand Fergie has offered to step in and help Giggs.”
Smith added that United owners the Glazers “would consider” appointing Mourinho but “there are key individuals opposed” to the move.
Manchester United’s next fixture is on Saturday against Swansea City at Old Trafford, odds on a 0-0? The Red Devils and Sir Alex Ferguson may be better getting advice from GG Racing Tips.
