Louis van Gaal Talks Up Middlesbrough Ahead Of Cup Tie

Following the 3-0 win over Ipswich, United host Championship side Middlesbrough in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup.

Louis van Gaal has given his views on the tie to MUTV, following the fourth round draw that was made last night.

“It is one of the top clubs in the Championship so it is not so easy. I am very happy with the result.

“I am happy we are playing at home. We are travelling a lot so it is good to stay at home.”

Aitor Karanka’s Middlesbrough are looking to make a successful return to Manchester having defeated United’s rivals City in last year’s FA Cup third round.

Old Trafford will play host to 5,500 fans travelling from the North East, as the Red Devils look to continue a cup run that would boost confidence around the club.

Last night’s encounter saw Wayne Rooney get on the scoresheet, along with teenagers Andreas Pereira and Anthony Martial.

The tie will be played in the week commencing 26th October.
