Louis van Gaal and Manchester United are already said to be in the market for a left-back this coming January transfer window, despite a number of players that can fill in his position until he returns.
Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo, Ashley Young and even Matteo Darmian are all capable of playing at left-back for Manchester United to cover Luke Shaw, who suffered a double left fracture last Tuesday night during the clubs 2-1 defeat to the hands of PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League over in the Netherlands.
But, according to the Sun this Sunday, Manchester United have been keeping a close eye on Aaron Cresswell from West Ham United and are ready to table a £15million bid in the January transfer window for the defender. Cresswell signed a five-year deal with the hammers back in June.
Cresswell is not the first defender that Manchester United have been linked to since the horrific injury suffered to Luke Shaw, on Thursday there were a number reports that the club had been scouting Leeds United left-back Charlie Taylor.
Louis van Gaal’s men travel to Southampton in the 4pm BST kick-off on Sunday afternoon.
