Manchester United face a tough away fixture this afternoon against Southampton down at the St Marys, a long journey for both the squad and their fans, but Louis van Gaal’s army will be looking for another three-points after league confidence from last weekends 3-1 victory over Liverpool at Old Trafford.
Louis van Gaal had this to say before kick-off in regards to his travelling squad:
“Wayne is fit to play. He’s only had one week out. It was because we weren’t taking any risks with him. Phil Jones has come back and trained with the group for the first time. He’s not match fit but he’s fit to train. Only Luke Shaw is injured.”
The team-news from the St Marys has just been handed to the referee in the tunnel, with the media now free to report on both starting elevens.
