Luke Shaw flew back to Manchester with his family on Saturday morning, after spending 3-days at St Annes hospital over in Eindhoven, to then be whisked into Bridgewater Hospital for the weekend as he is scheduled to go under the knife for a second time on Sunday.
Shaw, suffered a double leg fracture last Tuesday night after a two-footed tackle in the first half. The 20-year-old was operated on straight away but a second planned operation for Friday could not go ahead, so the club have flown him back to Manchester, in which he will have a small operation on Sunday morning to close open wounds to fight infection.
The road to recovery starts now for Luke Shaw, here is hoping he can get back, and to the form he had shown at the start of this season before disaster struck. Louis van Gaal is hoping that Shaw will be able to return to his home from hospital on Tuesday morning.
Here is hoping that his operation is over and he is well enough to sit up in hospital and watch Manchester United’s match against his former club, Southampton.
