United Successful Transfer Window So Far?

Thursday it has been confirmed that Chelsea and Manchester City have beaten United to the signatures of Pedro and Nicolas Otamendi respectively. We also had last nights surprising story on the BBC that we’ve had a bid rejected by Southampton for their winger Sadio Mane.

Some would have you believe that this is a bad day for United and that our transfer recruitment has not been a successful one. I beg to differ! I think we have done very well with our recruitment this summer. Rarely has a ‘galactico’ signing succeeded at United so I am much happier to I see the likes of Memphis, Darmian and Schneiderlin stepping out at Old Trafford. These are the kind of players who will prove to be better value for money and put in the performances that I feel can win games and maybe some trophies too.

Ashley Young and Angel Di Maria showed us last year that big names are not always the answer!

Yes it hurts seeing top players at our rivals whether we were linked with them ourselves or not. I am confident in Louis Van Gaal and our current squad. If we don’t make any more signings then I am happy that we have depth, ability and experience to compete in all competitions. Who knows, we might even dip into the transfer market again before the deadline closes.
