Robin van Persie was back in action for Manchester United on Monday night, featuring for the clubs under-21s against Leicester City.
The Dutch striker has not featured for United’s first-team since picking up an injury back in the middle of February, an injury which many have seen as a blessing in disguise to many Manchester United fans as with van Persie out of contention, Louis van Gaal had opted to put Wayne Rooney back up top, since the squad have been playing some fantastic football.
But, on Monday night, Robin van Persie gained 60-minutes of match fitness against Leicester City, also gaining an assist for Sean Goss. van Persie was not the only first-team name to make it onto the team sheet for the under-21s, Jonny Evans, James Wilson and Rafael Da Silva also made the starting XI.
