After Manchester United’s 1-1 draw against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday, thoughts now move toward the boxing day fixtures in which Louis van Gaal’s men face Newcastle United at home, and after the humbugs lost to Sunderland in the North East derby, United will be looking to take all three-points and give the fans an extra present this Christmas.
After coming on as a substitute against Aston Villa, the United Ramble team predict that Angel Di Maria will start the game of in a 4-4-2 formation, as the 3-5-2 didn’t really work out against Paul Lambert’s men. There is now doubt, that Angel Di Maria is a massive advantage to any team, a game changer, so that is why he is the first on the team-sheet against Newcastle United.
Another of our summer signings, Radamel Falcao had a good game against Aston Villa, scoring the equaliser with a fantastic headed finish at the Holt End, he will undoubtedly keep his place up top alongside Robin van Persie with Wayne Rooney just behind replacing Juan Mata, who failed to impress at Villa Park.
Hopefully now recovered from illness and back in training, Marouane Fellaini was missed over the weekend, his physical attributes will come in handy against Newcastle United, so he slots into midfield with Michael Carrick just behind in the hole to also protect the defence if needed.
Returning to the fold in training last week, was Luke Shaw. Shaw would be great down the left hand side for Manchester United, but again, we’ve got Ashley Young to cover that position if needed. Rafael Da Silva coming back in at right-back to replace Antonio Valencia with Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones in the centre.
