Manchester United have been handed a boost ahead of their trip to Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon, after being injured for a few weeks, Angel Di Maria could be named on the bench in Louis van Gaal’s squad after the boss revealed that he had been training this week with the first-team, confirmation that was made with the club releasing pictures and video of the Argentinian Player of the Year training at Carrington.
At his weekly press conference on Friday afternoon, Louis van Gaal said:
“Angel has trained this week with us, it’s always dependable on how I have to compare with other players because he’s not match fit after one week. What I’ve said about van Persie and Falcao, I say also for Di Maria – it is no different.
“It is a procedure and he has to follow the procedure. Maybe I shall select him for the bench, or maybe not. I have to make my decision because we have one session to go.”

Louis van Gaal also confirmed that Marouane Fellaini will not travel to Villa Park due to illness. However, the manager was pleased to report he has:
“28 players in the squad and 22 to put in the line-up, and that is big news.”
Manchester United’s away trip to Aston Villa on Saturday is a 3pm GMT kick-off.
