Marouane Fellaini will miss Manchester United’s trip down the M6 to Aston Villa this weekend due to illness, Louis van Gaal has confirmed on MUTV.
Fellaini will remain in Manchester when the squad travel down on Friday afternoon, it was not all bad news for Louis van Gaal’s men though, as Di Maria and Shaw have returned to first-team training and Falcao could start against Villa.
Louis van Gaal said:
On Radamel Falcao:
“He shows fitness in the training sessions, so maybe I shall select him for the bench or maybe I shall select him for the [starting] line-up. Wait and see.”
On Angel Di Maria:
“He has trained this week with us but he’s not match-fit after one week. Maybe I shall select him for the bench, or maybe not. I have to make my decision because we have one training [session] to go.”
On David De Gea’s contract:
“No news, otherwise we would give that news. But first on MUTV – it is logical.”
Manchester United face Aston Villa at 3pm GMT on Saturday afternoon, hopefully another three-points for the reds.
