RATINGS: Manchester United 3-0 Liverpool – Super De Gea

A Decent 3-0 win over the old enemy sees united take their recent winning streak to six. After a decent performance overall with goals from Rooney, Mata and Van Persie here we break down the individual player ratings for the match against Liverpool:

David De Gea: Denied Sterling point blank one on one and Balotelli on a number of occasions, including a fantastic stop to tip an effort onto the crossbar. Magnificent once again. 9 Man Of The Match

Phil Jones: A decent game on his first run out since returning from injury. Made a few crucial tackles and put in a good all round performance. 7

Michael Carrick: Played once again as a central defender to add some much needed composure. He didn’t put a foot wrong and played out from the back exactly how LVG would want 8

Jonny Evans: Good to see him back but needs more matches under his belt to shed the ring rust. But that’s no excuse for his shoddy passing, 70% pass completion according to opta, this needs to improve. 5

Antonio Valencia: Attacked with purpose and composure. Great assist for the opening goal. 7

Marouane Fellaini: Bad first five minutes receiving a yellow, looked likely to get himself a second anytime. Got more involved as the game went on. 6

Wayne Rooney: Finally put in a decent performance against Liverpool after a decade of trying. Paul Scholes esque positioning and great side foot finish to score the opener. 8

Juan Mata: Scored the second goal from a possible offside position, but also added an assist for the third. 7

Ashley Young: Another decent run out in the wingback position. Caused problems on the wing and defended admirably. Nice cross for the second goal 7

Robin van Persie: The RVP of old was with us for another week. I’m starting to believe he may be here to stay. Top work rate and some impressive touches and dribbles. Relatively straight forward finish for the goal. 7

James Wilson: Shock starter for most, he’s clearly impressing LVG. showed glimpses of what he has to offer but didn’t really manage to get himself too involved in the game. 5

Subs

Ander Herrera: Did what we have come to expect of him. kept the ball moving and kept the game ticking along 6

Radamel Falcao: Made a few good runs and is starting to look a bit sharper. Must be due a start soon to see any progress. 6

Paddy McNair: Got a few minutes to ease his way back in after a disastrous 40 minutes last time out. N/A
