There were many players that had a fantastic game against QPR in United’s 4-0 win on Sunday, with Angel Di Maria taking the plaudits, but Manchester United defender Jonny Evans had a fantastic game at the back too. The Northern Ireland international believes that new-boy Luke Shaw will become the “best” left-back in the world.
Luke Shaw was Louis van Gaal’s second signing of the summer in a £27million move from Southampton, and now after seeing him in training and during the tour of the USA, Jonny Evans feels he has every it takes to be the best, not just in the Premier League, but the World.
Jonny Evans, speaking to the Manchester United official website said:
“Looking at our new defenders, Marcos Rojo and Luke Shaw, I’ve been really impressed.
“I watched Marcos at the World Cup and thought he was excellent for Argentina whether he played at left-back or left wing-back, and he can play centre-back too.
“I had the chance to work with Luke in pre-season and there is no doubt he is going to be the best left-back in the world.”
Hopefully Luke Shaw is in with a chance to start against Leicester City on Sunday, kick-off at 1:30pm BST.
