Danny Welbeck demands to leave Manchester United

Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck has reportedly asked to leave Old Trafford this summer in search of first-team regular football in the Premier League, with Arsenal and Tottenham ready to bid, according to the Metro.

With Javier Hernandez being offered to Juventus as part of a possible deal for Arturo Vidal, you would think that Danny Welbeck would be seen as a regular squad player for Manchester United during the 2014/15 season, but with Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie ahead of him in the pecking order, reports claim that the mancunian striker wants away.

The Evening Standard and Metro lead with, Louis van Gaal has agreed that Danny Welbeck can leave the club this summer and that both rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are monitoring the situation in hope to snap up the England forward.

A close source to the club has reportedly said:

‘Danny has an astonishing strike rate for United and he has now reached a stage where he deserves to be playing first-team football.

‘United are happy to let him go and a number of top clubs are interested.’

Manchester United are to listen to offers in the region of £15million for Danny Welbeck.
