Since the start of the summer the one name that has been on Manchester United fans’ lips is that of Arturo Vidal, he has been the Wesley Sneijder of previous years. According to various reports over the summer it seems that he has agreed to join Manchester United 144 times, with a fee rumoured to be in the region of £47million. But, as on Thursday afternoon, Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed, once again that the Chilean midfielder is going nowhere and will not make a summer move to Old Trafford.
As soon as Louis van Gaal was handed the job at Manchester United, the centre of midfield was one part of the squad that needs to be addressed, Arturo Vidal seemed to be that missing link and both the club and fans are still hopeful that a deal can be done before the end of the window which closes in just 18 days.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday in Turin, the Juventus boss said:
“Vidal? He’s not going anywhere”
This is a stance that Allergri has already stated previously in this transfer window, making it known that Juventus are not wanting to sell their midfielder. It is rumoured that the Italian giants are willing to sell one of Arturo Vidal or Paul Pogba, if the price is right, if true then Ed Woodward needs to get the check book out and stop dithering about, if Manchester United have yet to make an initial bid for Vidal.
If there is to be a deal, it may not be until close to the end of the window. Juventus are currently on their pre-season tour of Australia.
Do you think Manchester United will secure the signing of Vidal this summer?
