Match Report: Manchester United reach the final of the Milk Cup

Manchester United under-17s have reached the Dale Farm Milk Cup Final by smashing Partick Thistle 4-0 in the semi-final. It has been a fantastic run of results for the young reds while over in Northern Ireland thus far, even an eleven nil victory in the progress, but now they are all set for the final and hopefully to retain the Milk Cup, bringing it back to Old Trafford.

Manchester United started the match the better of the two sides, opening up chances from the midfield. It was young United trialist forward Ogo Obi who made the break-through of the two sides just before the half-time whistle, calmly firing home after an assist from the in form Demetri Mitchell.

After the break it was clear to see that Manchester United were in control of the match, keep possession well and trying to break down the Partick Thistle youngsters and every opportunity. Cameron Bothwick-Jackson scored a delicate header after the Thistle defender were confused on whom was to clear the danger, making it 2-0 to Manchester United.

Demetri Mitchell has had a fantastic tournament so far, it was his goal that made it 3-0 to United. Mitchell has now scored six goals during this summers Milk Cup, hoping for more of the same in the final.

Jordan Thompson made the thrashing a rout after smashing in a fantastic drive from almost 30-yards.

Paul McGuiness’ young reds will now face Vendee in the final of the Dale Farm Milk Cup on Friday evening.
