Bebe: A God Amongst Mere Mortals?

Manchester United have seen some of the world’s greatest players Don its famous colors in the past. Legends of the beautiful game such as Eric Djemba-Djema, David Bellion, Kleberson and Liam Miller have dazzled in the Theatre of Dreams.

Great players no doubt, but there is one player who stands heads and shoulders above these greats. A Portuguese magician who left every single Manchester United fan captivated and at the edge of their seats. Tiago Manuel Dias Correia, or the magnificent “BEBE”. Even an alien from another planet was unable to outshine the talents of the greatest number “33” the world has ever seen. The Alien better known as Gabriel Oberton went onto pastures new at a “Wee Club in the North-East” Newcastle while Bebe continued his rise to cult hero status at the biggest club in the world, Manchester United.

Bebe joined united in 2010 only five weeks after he had signed for Vitoria de Guimaraes. How united signed a player of the caliber of Bebe for a measly sum of €9 million is the biggest bargain in footballing history. How united got the high profile star amid a bidding war between Manchester United, Real Madrid and Benfica for his signature is a mystery to this date.

One of the few players who gave it their all in every game he played for the club. One of the few players who knew what the badge meant. One of the few players who showed us fans a reason to believe in every performance. After countless invaluable appearances for the club and wining everything his heart desired at Manchester United, The Legend that is Bebe is now on his way to back to his native Portugal. Benfica have finally got their man and tied up one of the few legitimate superstars in the game for his best years. I would like to salute the legend for his loyal service to the club and wish him well in portugal.

If there is one player that deserves his Jersey Number to be retired it is this man. The Brilliant “BEBE” #Retire33MUFC . It remains to be seen how United’s much criticized Chief Executive Ed Woodward handles the situation. The Fans are expecting a marquee signing to fill the void left by “BEBE” Can Woodward Deliver ? and what was your favorite moment of the outgoing bebe in a united shirt ?
