First Half :
David De Gea : 7
Made a few good routine saves in the first half.
Jonny Evans : 7
Had little to do defensively and moved further up field at times.
Chris Smalling : 7
Solid at the back in a back three and put in a few good headers. Could benefit from playing in a back three consistently and looked less shaky than he normally does.
Phil Jones : 7
Good Display along with the rest of the back three, made a brilliant last ditch tackle to stop Robbie Keane from going up 1 on 1 against De Gea.
A.Valencia : 7
Provided the width required for the team and was always available out wide much like Luke Shaw. More aimless drilled crosses as the end product. Won the penalty for United’s second.
Luke Shaw : 7
Always available out wide but failed to put in the final ball most of the times. Not the best of debuts for the 19 year old, may have been a case of being a bit nervous.
Juan Mata : 7.5
Linked up well with Ander Herrera, Rooney and Welbeck. Won the ball back high up the field to assist for Welbeck’s goal.
Wayne Rooney : 8
Stepped up to convert a perfect penalty for United’s second. Added his second after capitalizing on a defensive mistake to tap in from Danny Welbeck’s cross from the right.
Danny Welbeck : 8
Good movement, linked up well with Rooney,Mata and Herrera. Scored the opening goal.
Anders Lindegaard : 7
Rushed out when required to do. Had little to do just like De Gea in the first half.
Tyler Blackett : 7
Not troubled by La Galaxy’s attack and dealt with what little came him way with a few good headers.
Michael Keane : 7
Helped United maintain the clean sheet and was largely untroubled at the back.
Rafael : 7
Bombed forward much like Valencia in the first half. LVG sticking with the 3-5-2 could be beneficial to his game in the long term.
Reece James : 8
What a debut by the youngster scoring two goals. Two brilliant finishes after attacking the box from deep.
Tom Cleverley : 7
A typical Cleverley game, played simple passes and help united continue their domination in the second half.
Shinji Kagawa : 7
Kept things tidy playing deeper in central midfield alongside Cleverley allowing Herrera to play in the Hole in the second half. Got a chance to score but curled the ball just wide of the post.
Ashley Young : 8.5
Took two of his three chances well. Played up front along with Nani. Willingness to run behind the defence payed off with Herrera putting him through with pin point passes for both his Goals. Assisted for both of Reece James’s goals.
Nani : 6.5
An okay performance, didn’t have much impact on the game.
Darren Fletcher : 8.5
Captained the side and played alongside Herrera in the first half and helped protect the back three. Moved into the Center Back position alongside Blackett and Keane for the second Half.
Ander Herrera : 10
It was The Ander Herrera Show Live at The Rose Bowl : Controlled the whole game and was unplayable throughout the game. Involved in the build up to 6 of the 7 goals. Kept position linked up well with players around him. We have a proper Central Midfielder on our hands.
