It is the day that Manchester United fans have been waiting for since the departure of David Moyes back at the end of last season. On Wednesday morning, new United manager Louis van Gaal flew in a private jet into Manchester, to be whisked off to the AoN training ground to meet with CEO Ed Woodward and new assistant manager Ryan Giggs.
It is set to be a busy time for the new manager, as he has just returned from Brazil with the Netherlands squad to fly direct to Manchester, spending time at Carrington on Wednesday afternoon and overseeing the clubs 5:30pm BST training session.
On Thursday, Louis van Gaal will take his first Manchester United press conference before the club fly out to the USA on Friday morning for their pre-season, a busy time for van Gaal but one that he himself had requested. Turned down the opportunity for a break between the World Cup and start of the season.
