Patrice Evra to move to Italy despite new Manchester United contact?

Reports in Italy have surfaced suggesting that long term Manchester United servant Patrice Evra could be leaving the club despite his recent year long contract extension. The £28 million signing of Luke Shaw has almost certainly ended Patrice Evra’s position as United’s first choice left back and his recent extension could be seen as merely a sign that United do not want to lose him on a free transfer.

The reliable Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Juventus have agreed a 3.5 million euro contract with the Frenchman but now face the more difficult task of agreeing a fee with Louis Van Gaal, who may be unwilling to part with the experienced full back who could provide vital cover, and guidance, for Luke Shaw in the new season.

Whether the sale of Evra could be used as a make weight in a deal for one of Juventus midfield duo Arturo Vidal or ex-red Paul Pogba remains to be seen but worldwide reports would suggest that a bid for Vidal is likely in the coming weeks.
