Manchester United have started off their summer transfer proceedings well, bringing in Ander Herrera from Athletic Bilbao and left-back defender Luke Shaw from Southampton. But, they are now planning a bid to bring one of the stars of the World Cup, Arturo Vidal to Old Trafford.
The Chilean midfielder, that’s right, an actual midfielder that Manchester United are linked too, had a great World Cup over in Brazil, only to be dumped out on penalties to the hosts.
The rumours have been slowly building regarding Vidal, with Manchester United and Arsenal keen to bring him over to the Premier League. Vidal would be exactly what United are after as a box to box midfielder.
Italian website Tuttosport claims that Manchester United are in the driving seat to sign Arturo Vidal, and that it could be the biggest talent at Old Trafford since Cristiano Ronaldo.
Now that the World Cup is over, Vidal will take a break before commenting on his future. In an recent interview in the past few days Vidal said:
“Now I will take a little holiday. I need to relax with the family, so I can come back stronger than before.”
Tuttosport report goes on to say that it is Manchester United who are “proving the most interesting to the player through direct and indirect contacts with Juventus.”
We will be keeping a close eye on this transfer rumour over the next week, a rumour that most Manchester United fans would be more than happy to see at Old Trafford. But, Vidal won’t come at a cheap price.
