It is rumoured that Manchester United’s new manager Louis van Gaal is a huge fan of Alexis Sanchez from FC Barcelona and that he is featured high on his summers transfer list to bring into Old Trafford.
The 25-year-old is also said to be a target for a number of clubs around the World, especially those from the Premier League with Liverpool and Arsenal also keeping a close eye on the Chileans movements this summer.
Sanchez will be concentrating on the World Cup which is now only one day away from starting, but no doubt Manchester United and Louis van Gaal will be monitoring him through-out the tournament. Chile play van Gaal’s Netherlands in the group stage so no better place to watch him in action.
The Guardian newspaper report that the value for Alexis Sanchez would be around the £20million mark, a very respectable price, but player(s) would have to make way in Manchester United’s squad in the transition-able summer period, with wingers such as Ashley Young and Luis Nani high on that list of players to depart.
Chile boss Jorge Sampaoli recently told the Chilean press that Alexis Sanchez might have to move on to become the best in the World, he said:
“He is a player that needs freedom and in FC Barcelona he does not have it.
“He has everything it takes to be one of the best in the world but in Barcelona he is subjected to a philosophy that is not best for him.
Despite hard workings behind the scenes at Old Trafford, the club are not expected to announce any signings until after this summers World Cup, which ends on Sunday 13th July 2014.
