‘Manchester United in not an option’ admits Arjen Robben

It had been rumoured that Louis van Gaal had Arjen Robben on his transfer lists for this summer, but the Bayern Munich star has come out today and stated that his future is to be in Germany, ruling out a move to Old Trafford this summer.

Arjen Robben says that there is no chance that he would be moving to Manchester United this summer, that he will continue with the Bundesliga Champions, Bayern Munich over in Germany.

Robben is now 30-years-old, has always said that he would be open for a return to the Barclays Premier League one day, but at this present time he is more than happy where he is, but does think that fellow countryman Louis van Gaal will do well managing Manchester United.

Speaking with De Telegraaf, Robben said:

“Manchester United? That’s not an option. I am staying at Bayern Munich. Period

“And I cannot imagine that Bayern would want to sell me. I have only just renewed my contract and we are happy with each other. It would have been a different story had I been unhappy.

“I would have been open to a move then, because I had a great time under Van Gaal at Bayern. He has been very important for my career. However, fact is that I am very happy at my current club.

“Van Gaal and [Pep] Guardiola are the best coaches I have ever worked with. I am feeling well and I’m going nowhere. There’s a zero per cent chance that I will join Manchester United.

“I think United did great to appoint Van Gaal.”

The transfer roulette at Manchester United continues, but the club are still confident that Luke Shaw will be concluded before the World Cup over in Brazil.
