It was Manchester United’s only signing of last summer under the new management of David Moyes, by submitting the paperwork with minutes to spare before the end of the window. But, Marouane Fellaini has been seen as a massive flop for United, especially after spending £27.5million.
But today, as reported by the Express, Manchester United are ready to let him leave the club after just one year as his ability and playing style does not fit into new managers Louis van Gaal’s formation.
After less than 12-months at the club, Manchester United are prepared to take a £12million loss on Marouane Fellaini if they can find a club that is prepared to buy him for a fee around £15million.
Fellaini is currently with the Belgium squad as they prepare for the World Cup over in Brazil, but the 26-year-old failed to impress once for his club last season after moving from Everton. Fellaini made 16 appearances in all competitions, including the clubs disapointing 2-0 defeat to Olympiacos over in Athens. A game in which Fellaini saw himself sent off after a second bookable offence.
In the report, they state that senior Officials at Carrington may have to call time on Marouane Fellaini’s career at Manchester United if he does not fit into Louis van Gaal’s plans for the future.
The new manager is set to be given £150million to get the club back to the top of the Premier League, bringing in some, hopefully big names and addressing the problem, that has been for years with Manchester United’s central midfield.
Do you think Manchester United would do right to sell Marouane Fellaini?
