As the Manchester United transfer roulette continues, Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller has ruled himself out on moving to Old Trafford this summer dispite his very good relationship with new manager Louis van Gaal.
Van Gaal was a key factor in the development of Thomas Muller’s playering career between 2009 & 2011, as he was the manager working very close with his hands on training. But it seems the 24-year-old will not be following him to Manchester.
Speaking with German media publication Sport Bild, Thomas Muller said:
“It’s not a secret that Louis van Gaal and I have a relationship that goes a bit further than a normal trainer-coach relationship
“I have a contract with Bayern Munich until the summer of 2017. I really enjoy playing for Bayern. There’s not really anything better than this.”
It is rumoured that Louis van Gaal has been given up to £150million to spend on transfers this summer, after handing assistant Ryan Giggs and CEO Ed Woodward a list of targeted players in which he would love to bring into Old Trafford.
The week has been full of rumours regarding who is on the transfer list for Manchester United, with one of the main names being Toni Kroos, who ESPN lead with reports that a fee had been agreed. Luke Shaw is also reportedly close to moving to Old Trafford, with the club hopeful that all can be announced before the start of the World Cup over in Brazil.
