Manchester United’s 22-year-old midfielder David Petrucci has joined up with Championship outfit Charlton Athletic on loan until the end of the 2013/14 season.
A agreement has been struck between the two clubs that will see Petrucci registered in time for a squad place in Charlton Athletic’s next fixture, which is an away league tie with Derby County this coming Saturday afternoon.
Davide Petrucci signed for Manchester United from AS Roma back in the summer of 2008, but since has had awful luck with various injuries up to now. Reserve manager Warren Joyes promoted Petrucci to Captain during the 2011/12 season. Since then the Italian midfielder has failed to impress at Manchester United, having been sent out on two previous loan spells both in 2013, moving to Peterborough United and Royal Antwerp.
Charlton Athletic have 11 fixtures left in the Championship and they are hopeful that Davide Petrucci can help them stay up in the league, they are currently sitting in 21st position, just one place off the relegation zone.
In the other Manchester United loan news, Jack Barmby has extended his loan spell at Hartlepool United until the end of the season.
