Manchester United picked up an important three points in a 2-0 win over Manchester City at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay scored in each half, both aided by mistakes from Ederson as our defence stood firm for 90 minutes.
City dominated possession and territory throughout but failed to create too much in the final third. Sergio Aguero barely got a touch of the ball, let alone a single shot as he was ultimately replaced on the hour mark. Raheem Sterling had the best chances for Pep Guardiola’s side but failed to produce any menace in his efforts.
A cheeky free kick from Bruno Fernandes picked out Anthony Martial on the half hour mark, whose first time effort managed to beat Ederson at his near post to give us a 1-0 lead. City continued to dominate the possession afterwards and it wasn’t until stoppage time that substitute Scott McTominay sealed the game for us. The midfielder spotted an overthrown pass from Ederson and hit a first time attempt from 40 yards to double our lead into an unguarded net.
