Manchester United are back in Premier League action on Sunday when we travel to Goodison Park to face Everton.
We were 5-0 winners at home to Club Brugge on Thursday night in the UEFA Europa League, in which Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fielded a near full strength side. The Toffees did not play midweek since losing 3-2 at Arsenal in the Premier League last weekend. They had been in good form prior to their last outing.
Everton start the weekend down in 11th place but are only five points behind us, so they are not entirely out of the Champions League race. This is the only competition they are left in, whilst we are back in action on Thursday night away to Derby County in the FA Cup.
Ahead of our trip to Merseyside, the Manchester Evening News have been able to confirm the travelling party. The bad news is that Anthony Martial is not part of the travelling squad. The French international missed Thursday’s action with a thigh injury and has failed his fitness test to feature this weekend. Odion Ighalo can be expected to start again for Manchester United with Marcus Rashford also sidelined. Mason Greenwood is the only other striker in our matchday squad.
Eric Bailly made his second start of the season midweek and has been included in the squad for Sunday. Whether he is fit enough to start two games in the space of a couple of days will be confirmed or not an hour before kickoff.
The full Manchester United squad to face Everton is as follows:
Goalkeepers: David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Nathan Bishop
Defenders: Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Diogo Dalot, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Brandon Williams
Midfielders: Scott McTominay, Fred, Nemanja Matic, Andreas Pereira, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Daniel James, Bruno Fernandes, Tahith Chong
Strikers: Mason Greenwood, Odion Ighalo
