Manchester United are set to welcome Arsenal to Old Trafford in the final fixture of this weekend’s Premier League action this evening.
Victory could move us up to as high as fifth place in the table, whilst defeat would see us heading into next weekend’s fixtures in the bottom half.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been hit with a plague of injuries in recent weeks and there appears to be mixed fortunes for the boss heading into Monday night’s game.
The Manchester Evening News have this afternoon reported the matchday squad that are set to take on the Gunners.
The good news is that both Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba have been named among the 19 players listed. Rashford limped off in the second half of our defeat at West Ham United last weekend, whilst Pogba did not feature at all.
Both players had been listed as doubtful to face Arsenal but it appears they will be making the bench at the very least.
One concern is that Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s name was not included in the list. There have been no reports of the right-back picking up any knocks or injuries in either his last outing nor training this week.
19-year-old full-back Brandon Williams has been included in the squad, as is promising defender Axel Tuanzebe. With Luke Shaw still sidelined, it is expected Ashley Young will play at left-back this evening, though Marcos Rojo is also an option.
Victor Lindelof will not be moved to right-back as there is no cover in the middle with Phil Jones and Eric Bailly both ruled out. It will be interesting to see who Ole deploys in defence if Wan-Bissaka is indeed absent.
This is not an officially confirmed list, but the MEN are reporting the following 19 players who are in contention to face Arsenal:
Goalkeepers: David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Lee Grant
Defenders: Victor Lindelof, Axel Tuanzebe, Harry Maguire, Marcos Rojo, Brandon Williams, Ashley Young
Midfielders: Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic, Andreas Pereria, Fred, Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Daniel James
Forwards: Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood
