Sign Him Now: Ed Woodward To Sanction Move For £87m Rated Forward – Club Willing To Sell In January

Manchester United have been given a transfer boost to sign summer prime target Antoine Griezmann. The Frenchman was very close to joining Manchester United last summer but for the transfer ban FIFA imposed on Atletico Madrid which was upheld by the CAS which meant the Spanish club would not have been able to buy a replacement had they allowed Griezmann go to Manchester United.

According to the Guardian, Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has reveals the sensational attacker can leave Wanda Metropolitano stadium in the winter only if the right offer comes. This had led to bookmakers such as coral betting shortening the betting odds of the Red Devils signing the Frenchman in the summer. The betting odds were also in favour of Manchester United last summer which shows the Red Devils are really keen on signing the Frenchman.

He has also been linked with Real Madrid, Barca, PSG, Chelsea and a host of other clubs but from all indication, it is Manchester United who stand the biggest chance of signing him. The player himself had confirmed sometimes in September that he would like to play in the same team at club level with current Manchester United star Paul Pogba.

From all indication Barca are also keen on him maybe as replacement for Neymar which could be an admittance of defeat in their chance for Coutinho. Betting odds have Barca as the second favorites to sign the former Real Sociedad attacker. But if you ask me, my bet will be on Manchester United signing him.

The former Real Sociedad star was tipped to remain at Madrid till the end of the season, but it all seems he has been given the all clear by the Argentine boss to leave the club when the right offers comes – which could be January.

Speaking to L’Equipe, Simeone said he wouldn’t stand in the way of any of his player who wishes to leave the club for higher challenge.

“Of course he can leave at some point, like Diego Costa and Arda Turan did in their day,” Simeone told L’Equipe.

“I love watching my players grow, and if one of them tells me that they have the unique opportunity of playing for a certain team, after they did everything they could for me, like Griezmann has done, I’ll say it’s not a problem. I know that he needs to grow.”

A host of top European clubs including Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all queuing for Griezman signature.

Griezmann contract with the Los Rojiblancos expires in 2022 and is thought to have a release clause of about £87m.

United Chief Ed Woodward much sanction move for Griezman now in January if he wants to bridge the gap between his club and City.
