English Premier League side Manchester United remain adamant that holding midfielder Ander Herrera will sign a fresh contract at the English club despite numerous interest from French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain and North London club Arsenal. The Spanish international maestro is out of Manchester United deal at the conclusion of the current campaign and has been handed the permission to enter the last few months of his deal without progression in contract negotiations over an elongation. The manager has reintegrated the midfielder into Red Devils starting eleven since taking over from Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho back in December and wishes to tie the 29-year-old at Old Trafford. European giants Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal are both thought to be keen on landing the midfielder on a free move, though the side have dismissed reports that the midfielder has already penned an agreement to leave at the end of the campaign. The Red Devils are sure that Ander Herrera, who joined the side back in 2014 and is well settled with his family in the City, wants to stay at the side but their approach at over the past 18 months has complicated renewals of contract with the player and numerous other members of the team. The decision of the board to hand Chile international forward Alexis Sanchez record pays of about £400,000-weekly raised eyebrows in the team and their severe sense of injustice has been heightened by the South American’s below-par displays since joining from North London giants Arsenal. Belgium international midfielder Marouane Fellaini angered a lot of colleagues by permitting his contract to expire within a month of its final expiry and he extracted a high salary out of the side by threatening to leave the club on a free transfer.
