Manchester United head coach Jose Mourinho is eyeing up a major reunion with former star and Atletico Madrid full-back Felipe Luis.
This is as per top Spanish publication Don Balon, who note that Jose Mourinho’s job is more safer now than compared to some weeks ago, and it seems as if he’s going to stay back at Old Trafford until the turn of the year.
The wide spread media report also suggest that Jose Mourinho thinks he can convince the Brazil international defender to swap la Liga side Atletico Madrid for Premier League giants Manchester United, and that the former Chelsea defender could cost them a fee of about €25M.
The South American would already be familiar with the managerial style of Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho should he switch to Old Trafford, as the pair worked together during their managerial and playing time with former Premier League champions Chelsea.
The Atletico Madrid star spent a year at the West London club, helping Chelsea win the English Premier League in the 2014/15 campaign under the former Real Madrid, Inter Milan and FC Porto boss, before leaving to return to the Spanish club at the end of the campaign.
Manchester United already have England international defender Luke Shaw and Ashley Young who are also available to play at left back position, and signing Filipe Luis may not be the best move for the side to make, especially seeing as the South American left-back is already 33-years-old.
If the Red Devils do end up signing the defender for €25million, we can assume that a lot of their supporters won’t be best delighted, as they’ll certainly think that the Manchester club can spend their cash better elsewhere.
