“Solid game”, “Beast mode”, “Massive credit”, – Man United fans heap praise on unlikely star despite loss

Premier League giant Manchester United were defeated 1-0 by Serie A champions Juventus, however, supporters were highly impressed by the display of one of their players on social media despited the Juventus loss.

The Red Devils will have been hoping to continue from their second-half dperformance against rivals Chelsea last Saturday when they met the Old Lady, who had Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Old Trafford.

United have had an indifferent Champions League start so far this term, having won just one game, drawn another and now lost one.

Argentina international forward Paulo Dybala made the difference when he scored the only goal in the earlier on in the first half of the encounter, however, Juventus had a lot of chances to add to their goal tally.

Spain international goalkeeper David De Gea safely made sure his side does not concede any further, including a decent save from a strike by Five time Ballon d’ Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo in the second 45 minute.

However, it seems another player had won a couple of plaudits on Social media side Twitter for his display on the night.

Supporters took to Twitter to heap praise on the performance of Victor Lindelof, believing Victor had an impressive display on the night.

Fans made several remarks stating that they had felt the Swede star had a good match outing and was unarguably their best player on the night.

The youngster has found life tough at the Manchester club since completing a switch to the Premier League club from Portuguese side Benfica in 2017, however, that display could help him establish himself in Jose Mourhino’s starting lineup plans.

Here are some reactions of fans on twitter:

Few positives tonight for United. Not as bad (although not good!) as recently but it was men against boys. And Lindelof had a good game. Maybe our best player – or Young. Or De Gea for the double save and THAT save #MUFC #MUNJUV #MANJUV

Massive credit to Victor Lindelof though, pocketed the best striker in the world for 90 minutes. Easily man of the match and only player who can come away feeling good about their performance. #mufc

As simple as it sounds, Juventus have a better attack and defence than #United and it showed. Still, poor that United barely tested Szczesny and their front three looked callow tonight. Lindelof impressive…. #MUFC. #tizxonet

Boys against men.Mourinho just doesn’t have the talent to compete at the top level.Lindelof decent.Getting hard to watch Lukaku at times #MUFC

Aside De Gea, Lindelof was United’s best player tonight.
Matic and Lukaku were the worst.
Currently, man united is inferior to not just the top 5 in the EPL but also all the elite teams in Europe.#UCL #MUFC #MUNJUV

On the positive side I thought Lindelof had his best game in a United shirt.
