With just few days to the opening of January transfer window, Manchester United are yet to make major signing but latest report claims that Devonte Redmond has returned back to Old Trafford.
This was made known by Manchester United official website that the 21-year old midfielder has return to club to continue his development.
The exciting young talent returned to club following his loan spell at League One side Scunthorpe United, where he made just seven appearances.
The Manchester born midfielder was billed to return to United in 6 January but has been allowed to head back to the AON Training Complex due to the fact that the League One club will not be playing this weekend.
Redmond will now continue his development under the leadership of Ricky Sbragia at the Under-23 level and hopes to get more play time.
On arrival at Old Trafford last season, Jose Mourinho promised to give the youth team an opportunity at the senior team level.
Should Redmond impress at the Under-23 level, he could be given play time by Mourinho in the Red Devils’ first team.
Report has it that the Portuguese tactician is currently in talk with United hierarchy for a contract extension.
United takes on Derby County in FA Cup game tomorrow and who knows Mourinho could include Redmond in his match day squad.
