Aston Villa owner Dr Tony Xia has ruled out any move by Manchester United to recall their season-loan goalkeeper Sam Johnstone in January.
This was due to rumours claiming the Red Devils wants to recall the highly rated goalie from his loan spell at Villa park this January, in an attempt to sell him to West Brom Albion for a reported 4m.
Responding to a question on his twitter handle concerning Johnstone future with the club, Tony Xia confirmed that Villa are hopeful the former England star will agree to become their player on a permanent basis next season.

Just like all stories to fill with newspaper space. He will be with us, hopefully we go up then he will be permanently. I think Villa is his fortunate place.. .

Daily Mail earlier reported that the Red Devils have exercised an option to extend Johnstones contracts through the summer of 2019.
The 24-year old shot stopper has been on a fine form for the Championship side this season, keeping 11 clean sheets in league while maintaining his number one sport in Steve Bruce’ team.
While he is contracted to Manchester United till 2019, his long-term outlook does not change as he is currently the fourth choice goalie in Jose Mourinho’s team.
He is currently behind David de Gea, Sergio Romero and Joel Pereira in United ranking.
