La Liga giants Atletico Madrid have reported filed former complaints against Barcelona to football governing body FIFA over illegal Approach to Antoine Griemann.
According to the Express, the Complaints comes after the Catalan club’s director of sporting relations Guillermo Amor suggested club president Josep Maria Bartomeu held a meeting with the French star family.
“If Bartomeu met with Griezmann’s family as the newspapers say, then there may well have been an approach,” Amor said.
“Though, I don’t know anything for sure.
“There is a good relationship, there can also be comfortable conversations. Rumours are inevitable in the football world.
“In Griezmann’s case there are many people we talk to; it’s our obligation to have contact with players.”
The 26-year old forward was close to joining Manchester United in the summer but the deal failed to materialize after Atletico Madrid transfer ban was upheld until January.
The former Real Sociedad star has been an invaluable asset for the Madrid club since his move in 2014.
Griezman was tipped to remain at Madrid till the end of the season but Atletico boss Diego Simeone recently reveals the forward could be sold in January if the right offers comes.
“Of course he can leave at some point, like Diego Costa and Arda Turan did in their day,” Simeone told L’Equipe.
“I love watching my players grow, and if one of them tells me that they have the unique opportunity of playing for a certain team, after they did everything they could for me, like Griezmann has done, I’ll say it’s not a problem. I know that he needs to grow.”
His outstanding performances have gone unnoticed with top European teams including Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea and PSG all linked with a move for the player.
