Manchester United have reportedly handed a trial to 16-year-old Brazilian midfielder Matheus Marcosi. According to the Daily Mail United are set to give Marcosi a week’s trail at the club and he could even feature for one of the clubs junior sides this weekend.
Marcosi has already undergone one trail with the Red Devils back in 2014 and it now appears he will be given a second chance to impress the United hierarchy as he bids to earn himself a contract at Old Trafford.
The teenager’s preferred position on the pitch is midfield but he is also able to play in a variety of different positions across the back four.
When it comes to Brazilian footballers, it is fair to say that Manchester United hasn’t had much luck in the past. Kleberson, Anderson, Rafael Da Silva and the likes have all been brought to Old Trafford but none have what it takes to succeed at the club but should Marcosi impress in his trail and earn himself a contract at United he could yet become the first Brazilian to become a success at the theatre of dreams.
Tipped as the next big thing in Brazil, the teenager stands as one of the most exciting young prospects in today’s game and with United seemingly keen to give Marcosi another trail another trial at the club it truly speaks high volume for a player who is still just sixteen years old.
