Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin and defender Marcos Rojo are both doubts to be fit for the club’s final Premier League game of the season against Bournemouth at Old Trafford.
Rojo, 26, suffered an unspecified injury in training on Saturday, while Schneiderlin has been ill. Both men were left out of the match day squad for the scheduled game against Bournemouth on Sunday, which was abandoned after a suspicious package was found in Old Trafford’s North West Quadrant.
Speaking via his personal Instagram account Scheiderlin said, “I was not at the stadium due to illness, but I feel so sad of what happened on Sunday. I am happy that that all the people are safe but I feel sorry for the fans. Thank you to the police and security staff who were able to handle the situation.”
The club’s chances of finishing in the top four appear all but over after yesterday, with Manchester City’s 1-1 draw with Swansea City leaving United 3 points behind their arch rivals with a vastly inferior goal difference. With the FA Cup final on the horizon, head coach Louis Van Gaal could make a number of changes to his starting eleven.
