Manchester United are set to complete the sale of Jonny Evans to West Brom in the next 24-hours, as he has travelled down the M6 on Friday afternoon to undergo a medical with the Baggies.
West Brom manager Pulis said:
“I would love to sign Jonny Evans. I think he would be a great signing.
“Now it’s down to the money men and his side. Three parties have to agree: the two clubs and the player himself.”
Louis van Gaal has decided that, since pre-season Jonny Evans had become surplus to requirements and has reportedly offered him to a number of clubs, including West Brom, Sunderland and Everton. But, after news broke on social media on Friday, it seems that West Brom will be the destination for Evans.
This season Manchester United have started each match with Chris Smalling and Daley Blind as centre-backs, and with Phil Jones and Paddy McNair firmly in place as back-ups, then it is a wise move for Jonny Evans to move away from the club for game time.
Good luck to Jonny.
