Manchester United have today made an official enquiry and bid for Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bayern Munich, according to reliable German newspaper Bild.
Louis van Gaal is said to have offered the Bayern Munich star a long-term contract and a mega-salary to lure his former player to Old Trafford.
Schweinsteiger could be set to leave now after 17 years with the German Champions.
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said:
“We spoke on the phone a few days ago. I make no bones about the fact that I get is one that flatters him the interest from England.
“So frankly no one has spoken with Bayern over a Schweinsteiger dismount! Because it can happen very quickly now?
Schweinsteiger is set to return from his holiday’s on Friday, with Bayern’s first training session on Saturday morning. But with Manchester United making an official bid today, things could all change over the next few days.
