The end of season is getting closer, and the start of the transfer season is upon us, but with this one surely they reports are way off the mark? Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning to launch a bid for Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata this summer, with a measly £18.3million bid.
The Spaniard’s long-term future at Old Trafford has been questioned earlier this season under Louis van Gaal, but since Wayne Rooney has been moved up top, Juan Mata alongside Ander Herrera has been absolutely fantastic.
Mata scored both goals in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Liverpool, and the 26-year-old was voted player of the month for March by the club’s supporters, who taking from the social media reaction to this rumour, do not want to see Juan Mata leave the club this summer.
Despite this, according to reports in Spain, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is hopeful of doing business with United this summer with regards to an £18.3m bid for Mata.
The North London outfit were linked with the Spaniard prior to his 2011 move to Chelsea, where he spent three years before joining United.
