Transfers: United back in for Paul Pogba?

Reports in Italy has circulated in the last 24 hours that United has begun negotiations for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.

Contributor to Italian paper Gazzetta dello Sport Tancredi Palmeri has reported that both Manchester clubs – United and City – has made contact with Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola, and has entered talks with the Juventus over the last 48 hours.

While more recently, Italian publication La Stampa has reported that United has made a bid worth €80 million for Pogba’s services. They have also echoed reports that City are also in the race for the French midfielder, while Real Madrid are not interested.

A move for Pogba would be a very interesting, if controversial move for United. Pogba, of course, decided to leave United on a free transfer to Juventus in the summer of 2012, having had his demand for improved wages denied. He has spoken out numerous times on the way he was treated at the club, saying then-manager Sir Alex Ferguson didn’t believe in him. However, he has recently stated that he will not speak ill of the club that he “loves”.
