With rumours abound regarding a pair of their strikers, Manchester United has expressed interest in Real Madrid forward, Karim Benzema. Real Madrid are not absolute on selling Benzema, but if a team like United presented a bid that was attractive enough, Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti would be keen to listen.
The 26 year-old Frenchman has 13 goals in 16 appearances for Los Blancos including three goals in two games against Liverpool during Champions League play.
A move like this would likely not happen until the summer window, when Robin Van Persie is rumoured to leave Manchester United. Benzema would be an alternative to signing Radamel Falcao as well, as he has had poor fitness which has lead to his struggles in adjusting to the Premier League. The Colombian striker, on loan from Monaco has failed to impress United manager Louis Van Gaal, so far.
The estimated price to pry Benzema from the Bernabeau would be somewhere around £40 million. United are also in contention with other Premier League clubs, Arsenal and Liverpool, to ink the striker.
