Louis van Gaal today met with the media ahead of Manchester United’s second match of the Premier League season against Sunderland. In a week that has been hard for the club after losing their first match against Swansea City, and added pressure from board and fans to sign new players, especially now as injuries mount for United.
During his conference the new United manager admitted that he was seen as a king on their pre-season, but after losing one match, is now seen as a devil.
Speaking to the media, Louis van Gaal said:
‘The club have hired me because of my philosophy, not because I am nice. Although I am. They have not hired me to fire me.”
‘Two weeks ago I was the king of Manchester. Now I am the devil. It is the football world.’
