Manchester United returned from their pre-season tour of the USA on Tuesday afternoon, and the rumour mill has not taken long before getting into full swing in regards to players coming into the club, one name that keeps coming to the media is that of Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina, which according to reports Louis van Gaal is set to lodge an official bid for in the coming days.
The Colombian winger has attracted much attention from clubs all over Europe this summer, including Spanish giants Barcelona after the 26-year-old was one of the brightest prospects during Colombia’s World Cup over in Brazil this summer.
Ed Woodward, Manchester United’s CEO had flown back early from their USA pre-season tour, since then United have been monitoring the availability of Juan Cuadrado, even though Fiorentina themselves insisted a few days ago that up to yet, the club have not received any offers for Cuadrado. It is reported over in Italy that Manchester United have since made a bid in the region of £30million.
Cuadrado scored 11 goals in 32 games last season in the Italian Serie A, a stat which is impressive compared to Manchester United’s wingers last term.
Time will tell see if Manchester United have, or are preparing to lodge a bid for Cuadrado. If Louis van Gaal has been looking at our wingers on pre-season, the surprisingly enough it is only Ashley Young that had impressed.
