Manchester United are leading the way to signing 22-year-old Stefan de Vrij from Feyenoord this summer transfer window, according the The Mirror. De Vrij is, of course, well known to United new boss Louis van Gaal and the report states that the Netherlands centre-back is set for a move to Old Trafford.
De Vrij featured for the Netherlands during their impressive World Cup campaign over in Brazil, finishing third in the whole competition. De Brij himself scored once and recording a 81.6 % pass completion record for the tournament.
It is said that Manchester United are not the only club in the race to sign the centre-back, with Lazio also preparing a bid. But the Sunday Mirror state that De Vrij is refusing to acknowledge Lazio as he wishes to be reunited with Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.
£10million is the transfer fee that Manchester United are set to bid for the Netherlands international, who is seen as a perfect replacement for Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand.
