Former Manchester United keeper Edwin van der Sar believes that Louis van Gaal will spend the money on the correct players to bring into Old Trafford this summer, insisting that the new United boss will know which players have the United DNA.
Edwin Van der Sar is the most capped player in the Netherlands history, in total lifting 4 Premier League titles and the Champions League among many others during his stay at Old Trafford between 2005 and 2011.
Speaking to The Mirror, Edwin Van der Sar said:
“Van Gaal will spend the right money on the right player to ensure that they are right for United.
“He will know if they have the United DNA of the club inside of them. If not he will let them go and let them go to other clubs. You have to play and you have to fight for Manchester United. Not only come for the money.
“What’s more important? £20k or £30k more a week or the priviledge of playing for a coach like Van Gaal?
“It’s a massive club and if you are able to participate in that and to contribute to winning a title then you are settled for life because you have the adoration of the club.”
This summer is going to be an exciting one for Manchester United fans, a new manager, tour of America and hopefully, plenty of new faces at Old Trafford.
The club is all but set to announce the arrival of the first of those players, hoping that Luke Shaw can be signed before the start of the World Cup over in Brazil.
