Manchester United refuse to comment on Official £27m Luke Shaw bid

The Manchester United press office are refusing to comment on reports that the club have made an Official offer of £27million for Southampton’s Luke Shaw.

There was no doubt that during Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Southampton on Sunday that left-back Luke Shaw was man of the match, while keeping a close eye and out powering Adnan Januzaj on a number of occasions. The 18-year-old has been a target of both Manchester United and Chelsea over the past 6 months, with many signs pointing to a move to Chelsea, a club in which he supports. But Manchester United have blown all that out of the water with a £27million bid that will see the England left back come to Old Trafford, replacing Patrice Evra.

Ralph Krueger, Southampton’s chairman speculated about a lot of Southampton’s players after match, insisting there will be much interest over the summer, he said:

“The reason people look at our players is because the club does an excellent job developing them

“It should be difficult here every summer.”

The left-back position is something that would of needed to be addressed by Louis van Gaal when he does eventually come into the club, but by the sounds of things Ed Woodward, Manchester United CEO has already put the plans in place with this £27million bid for Luke Shaw.

A fantastic start to the transfer window for the summer if Manchester United can acquire the services of Shaw.
