David de Gea has won the Manchester United Player of the Year for the 2013/14 season, being presented with his crown on Thursday night at Old Trafford in front of all the players, girlfriends and staff at the club.
This season has been an awful one all round for Manchester United, coming to the close of the season sitting in 7th place and losing at Old Trafford seven times, a record that has not been broken for 40 years at the Theatre of Dreams. One of the brightest shining lights to come out of Manchester has been the performances of David de Gea, keeping 13 clean sheets and fast becoming a fans favourite, especially with his brother-hood relationship with new midfielder Juan Mata.
David de Gea joined Manchester United from Atletico Madrid back for £18million and has gone from strength to strength ever since, working closely with Eric Steele and Chris Woods as club coaches.
