It was confirmed on Thursday night that Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and both Phil & Gary Neville have agreed to buy Salford City Football Club.
The rumours regarding the takeover have been circling around Manchester since the start of February and today all parties have put pen-to-paper so that the five former Manchester United players are now sole owners of Salford City, rumoured to be changing the naming rights to ‘Salford 92’
Both Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville had a meeting over in Salford at the start of February, with the majority of the footballing clubs board happy for a bid to come in for an overall takeover. it has been rumoured that now all the paper work and final bid amount has been accepted, that the funds of £560,000 will be available to start right away on building a new terrace seated stand and brand new clubhouse. Salford City had previously sourced planning permission but could not fund the building work, all has changed as of the 27th March 2014.

Paul Scholes said:
“We know it will be tough but we will be committed to this from the start and have some very exciting plans going forward.”
